Voices on the Green

Voices on the Green, First Parish’s live music and storytelling series, now in its 9th
season, seeks storytellers for its next show scheduled for Friday night, November
20th at 7:00 pm. The theme is “Chance Encounters.”

Has a missed train, a wrong number, or a surprise dinner partner ever changed the
course of your day – or your life? Did an encounter with a stranger open your heart to
further adventures of the spirit, or were you left feeling stunned and vulnerable? We’ll
explore the sense of possibility, human connection, and the feeling of wondering “what
if…” in this engaging production.

Voices on the Green offers an intimate space where ordinary people share true,
personal six-minute stories. Do you have a story about a chance encounter you’d like to
share? Coaching is available to help you craft and present your story.

September 15, 2026 to be considered for the November show.

First Parish in Lexington, 7 Harrington Road.

Learn to tell your compelling, personal, true story in front of a live audience, in the
tradition of The Moth, Stories from the Stage, and Lexington’s own Voices on the Green.

In this free, introductory two-hour workshop, you will hear examples of successful
stories, learn to find your own story through a series of fun exercises, explore how to
structure a story, and have an opportunity to present your story in a small group.

This workshop is limited to 25 participants and registration is required. Registration
details will be available this fall.

This workshop is not limited to residents of Brookhaven. Any senior citizen with a
curiosity about storytelling is eligible to register.
